During the Open Day 25 July 2013 city. There will be a presentation on Kinesio Taping,beginning in 16:30 .

Kinesio taping is a revolutionary method of treating the musculoskeletal system.

At the presentation you will be able to familiarize yourself with the capabilities of the method, feel the effects of kinesio tape and even try to apply it yourself!

Applications will be carried out in various techniques with demonstration of stimulation, muscle relaxation, lymphatic drainage and rapid healing of hematomas.

Conducted by Demchenko Vladimir Sergeevich. Doctor neurologist-vertebrologist, Chiropractor. Current member of the Kinesio Taping Association (USA) and the Union of Multitaping Specialists (Ukraine)

«Тейпирование» – This is the gluing of special patches/tapes. Kinesio taping itself is a progressive method of taping, based in 1973 year by chiropractic doctor from Japan Kenzo Kase.

The essence of this method is, that stretch tapes are glued to the skin (kinesio tapes) adhesive based, which are like cotton, and synthetic. Under the influence of the heat of the human body, the adhesive base is quickly and reliably fixed to the skin..

The fibers of sports kinesio tapes have unique structure, which:

  1. provides air ventilation, thereby allowing the skin to "breathe";
  2. improves lymph and blood circulation due to microscopic lifting of the skin;
  3. prevents water and sweat from remaining in the tape, what is important during intense training, swimming and shower.

Kinesio tapes last from several days to up to a week of continuous wear., resistant to high intensity training and adverse external influences. At the same time, their healing effect is fully preserved..

Кинезиотейпирование, compared to standard taping methods, has a great advantage: its use does not limit a person’s movements in any way. And this significantly contributes to faster recovery of damaged muscles and joints.

For understanding mechanism of action kinesio taping must be remembered, that the purpose of muscles is not only to provide movement of parts of our body. They significantly promote blood circulation in the veins and lymph circulation. But if blood circulation occurs with the help of the heart, then the movement of lymphatic fluid is due to the work of the skeletal muscles. Therefore, a malfunction in the functioning of the muscles leads to the appearance of other symptoms.. Which means, To speed up injury healing, more attention should be paid to the regeneration of muscle functions. On the other side, When damaged, the muscle becomes inflamed and swollen, thereby reducing the distance between it and the skin. As a result, lymph outflow worsens, on which the process of removing decay products of damaged tissue depends. This compression causes muscle pain. (myalgia).

Scope of application kinesio taping is extremely wide: from headaches to solving musculoskeletal problems. It is used in hospitals, clinics, rehabilitation centers, in educational institutions, in professional sports.

Here are just a few of them indications for use this method:

  • motor dysfunction of various origins (cuts, Erb-Duchenne's palsy, cerebral palsy etc.);
  • deformities of the foot and lower extremities;
  • damage to the musculoskeletal system and disturbances in its functioning;
  • neurological symptoms of osteochondrosis in various parts of the spine;
  • swelling and hematomas;
  • impaired lymph drainage.

The use of this method makes it possible to provide damaged muscles and tendons with continuous support and increase their stability under prolonged loads, reduce pain and inflammation, normalize muscle tone. Kinesio taping also helps relieve muscle tension and speed up their recovery..

In addition, kinesio tapes are used for achieving the following goals:

  1. partial fixation during the rehabilitation period after a sports injury. Kinesio tapes ease the load on damaged muscles and ligaments;
  2. fixation in places inaccessible for standard taping (for example, with rib injury);
  3. reduction of excessive fatigue and prevention of cramps – For this purpose, kinesio tapes are used in athletics and cyclic sports, helping you achieve better results;
  4. protects the skin from chafing and adverse weather conditions, for example, very widely used in judo, to avoid the kimono collar rubbing the back of your neck;
  5. psychological comfort – the applied tape instills greater confidence in movements, increases their amplitude, thereby allowing you to achieve better results.

For even greater effectiveness, you can combine kinesio taping with various types of therapy., for example, with cryo- and hydrotherapy, massage and electrical stimulation.

Kinesio tape can be applied in two different ways.: stretching it or leaving it unstretched. If you need to stretch a muscle with ligaments on a damaged part of the body, then unstretched tape is applied. Before applying it, the muscle itself and the skin over it are stretched.. If it is impossible to stretch the damaged muscle or ligament, the tape is applied stretched. With both methods of application, kinesio tape lifts the skin above damaged muscles and ligaments. This helps reduce pain, Provides support to muscles and ligaments, improves lymphatic drainage.

Contraindications to kinesio taping, first, is advanced age combined with increased sensitivity or trauma to the skin. Sometimes stimulation of skin receptors can cause pain or itching. If there is a tendency for allergic reactions to occur, Before using the method, you should consult your doctor.
