26 March in Staritsa the first official arm wrestling championship of the Tver region took place. The competition was organized and held by the Tver Region Arm Wrestling Federation with the support of the regional committee for physical culture and sports, as well as the sports committee of the Staritsky district administration.

Center for Training and Development masseurs (CPRM) could not ignore such a significant event. It is no secret, that sports massage is one of the most important preparatory and rehabilitation measures for athletes. The Tver CPRM team decided to hold the next event of the charity project “Massage will save the world” at the Championship.. This is a traditional charity program of the CPRM. Our specialists with their work express support for socially significant events.

Why did we choose the Armwrestling Championship for our event?? Armwrestling – one of the most noble, ancient and easily mastered methods of fighting. Each of the two wrestlers, resting your elbow on the table, tries to bend the other’s hand and press it to the table surface. That's why the most common problem for athletes is hand injuries.. A warm-up sports massage before competition helps to show the best results and prevent injuries.. Sports massage improves blood circulation, reduces tension.

At the Championship, massage therapists of the CPRM team in Tver Tatyana Uskova, Olga Gordeyko, Maxim Paukov, Surayya Yusubova, under the leadership of Alexander Fomin, performed preparatory and restorative massage of the hands of athletes, provided first aid for sports injuries. So, providing a high level of support for the performances of the competitors.

Vivid and spectacular performances by participants aged 14 years and older (40-45 years) captured the attention of fans for a long time. At special tables in different age groups and weight categories competed 80 athletes from Tver, oxbow lakes, Vyshny Volochok, Ostashkova, Infamy, Konakovsky district and Olenino!

We express our sincere gratitude to the organizers of the Arm Wrestling Championship for their active life position. CPRM considers the dynamic development of armwrestling to be a serious achievement of the Tver region as a whole. Very important, that examples of strong-willed characters appear before the eyes of the younger generation, sports healthy lifestyle, civilized way of measuring forces. For my part, CPRM expresses its readiness to participate in the future as an official massage team and provide sports massage at the Arm Wrestling Championships competitions.
